Yo brudders, anyone wanna fix the aircon filter on altis? Slight mods on cutting the holder to slot in the filter tray will void the warranty?

i do not think it will void warranty for some reasons:

1. I do not think BM will go look up at the region behind the glove box for the soucre of any problem as that is only air mass flowing through.

2. The mod is only to make an opening to have a cartridge to hold the air con filter. I do not see how that would modify the performance of the condenser/blower/compressor.... Especially so that the filter is placed on the "output" of the air con system......

ALTIS Fuel Consumption - I'm up to almost 3,000 KM on Shell 98 but my FC still around 10.6, I read that we should be able to get to above 12.0 on the ALTIS but have not yet seen anything close.....anybody know why ???? Sad Sad Sad

Either you drive in city area for most of your time or you are a heavy-footer.

hey, my FC is also ard 10.6km/l.... a bit dissappointed dat the FC for altis is tis bad.... but another contributor said we can expect better FC after the 5000km... so let's just wait n see....

i dun think i m a heavy footer..... i oso dun ram my engine..... sometimes caught in jam oso try to let car roll instead of too much footwork in stepping accelerator and brake.... *sigh*..... petrol now so ex.... got to haf better FC leh.....

Btw, i enquired from riverview motor at AMK auto point it cost abt $80 to fix up everything including the HEPA filter.

I am still in my 1st 1000km. My FC is ard 12.5km/l.

Try to use better spark plug n air filter. It might help. Cool

Yes, mostly city driving and even expressway these days are literally stop and go especially in the morning peak hours (even ECP these days are at most 30km/h between Bedok and Rochor...).

On the Heavy Footer, occasionally when need to accelerate quickly no choice as the pick-up for ALTIS is so-so only.....

when do you usually drive and in what traffic condition ? How full the Attendant pumps should have no impact on calculation right ?

yah i have mine fixed for about 2~3 weeks. cartridge + filter combo. No felt reduction in air flow.

After the comment about Heavy Foot, I observed my driving carefully over the last 1 day, I noticed that the as the car kicks in to the next higer gear and reaches my expected speed, the RPM drops only slightly (still 2,000+). I've to release the Pedal and re-engage gently to maintain RPM below 2000. Is this normal (maybe this is what is causing the high fuel consumption. Sad

Bro, my driving for 1st 1000km mostly on highway. Say 80%. Wink But i really drove quite slow as compare to my usual self. I'll keep on monitoring it.

Btw, i dont think tat little bit of petrol difference by pump attendant have much impact on FC. Rolling Eyes
