OK OK I believe you......if you take a manual Nissan Sunny and shift from 1st to 3rd gear, the Sunny will do 0-100 in 7 secs.

Wah, in that case hor....your Sunny almost as fast as this car leh:

By the way, don't mind let us learn from you a bit leh.....please share the conditions under which you did the 0-100 in 7 secs test? How did you measure the timing? How many people were in the car? Was the aircon on, or windows opened? How full was the tank?

this is confirm a modified one la. But really frankly speaking,sunny is heavy,therefore stabililty is there even u travel at 170,car still don't vibrate.So sunny cars are tough in this point,unless u do alot of modification.

Sometimes something cant be done means cant be done, no matters how you imagine it. Save some face for yrself, dont let ppl laught at you.

Do you know even a manual celica (SSI) which can be rev till 8000 rpm cant do a 7. Do you know when shift from 1 to 3 there is more time needed to reach 100, pls check the gear ratio of sunny. Pls do more reading. Wink

wow, its a definitely a mod one. sports exhaust??? or push real hard.

as for manual on highways, its true, when overtaking in extreme conditions, manual is better. can put in 3rd , and rev up and change to 4th and 5 and feel the car overtake real fast. but damn dangerous. The driver must be skilful.

otherwise, both are okay depends on driver preferences.

nowadays the auto has this CVVT thing, sunny is cvvt but altis is not sure which type of auto? there are difference in the way the cars pick up and good power torgue transfer on highways.

the cvt thing is implemented to enhance smoothness for the gear changes, but it compromises in performance in contrast to the conventional auto i think...

so i see. i read cvvt uses some belt thing and electronics to change the ratios.

i think even in auto , cvvt versus conventional also makes a difference.

He never say its a Nissan leh....he just said "sunny".
So give him the benefit of the doubt lah.
Sekali he means MacDonald-Douglas Sunny.....or Lockheed Martin Sunny.

Not really. Continuously Variable Transmission is also based on the car's CPU... like speed changes, elevation, etcs etcs. Cvvt is supposed to be smoother..

But seriously, unless you mod your car very heavily, or change the gear ratios, and the clutch to sports, its seriously not possible to skip 1 to 3, AND do 100 in under 7s.

i did this test in china one years ago, my china friend is mumber of an automobile club, this club provides some cars( family car or sports car) for motoring favour to challenge car's limitation, mumber is free test, non-mumber need to pay some, I tried pickup, top speed etc, 0 to 100km/h most were 8~10s, the best record was abt 7s, normal watch counted, not so seriously, the sunny paper declare is 9s someting (i can't remember), why i choiced sunny, because i was driving sunny in singapore, now i am driving honda civic. BTW i also tried honda fit Vtec, its best also abt 7s, Neutral
