SMRT totally messed up 851.

It forced long distance commuters on 851 to move to MRT instead because most times you won't get a seat on 851.

Now that there are so many DDs coming in, SMRT has bendies to offer 851, yet it won't and will force people to inconvenience.

This overall has reduced the loading on 851 over the years.

Under GCM, allocation of type of buses is NOT decided by the operators, but by LTA.

961 have 2 DD added from WLDEP since BCM
61 also have DD replaced the bendy
67 already replaced the bendies with all A95s
969 have a share of A95.
854 already doing the same replacing bendies with A95.
I think 981 got one A95.

I notice that 854 is still spamming several ex-851 old bendies today, even though there are 5 A95s spotted. Still a very long way for 854 WAB improvement.

Those old bendies should just throw back to 851.

From the discussions above, it should be the left turn from Tiong Bahru Rd to Henderson Rd.... 851 is indeed the only service there.

If I am not wrong, 16 also makes a turn there.

811 & 812 have DD route testing already, but am really not sure if they going to debut DDs on 811 and 812

SMRT should seriously concentrate on how to improve 854 WAB fleet with more DDs first, before they can think of deploying DDs on 811 812.

Also since 811 812 may go to new operators under Seletar package soon, let the new operators do it.

From my observations that SMRT feeders had been getting more rigids lately, it seems that SMRT wants to use the HC buses for trunks (but for 851 idek why it's getting bendy downgrade). Because for feeders, it's only mostly a short ride and people won't stand that long. But for trunk routes, there is a mix of long distance and short distance travellers so people might prefer a seat.

Just my opinions, what do you guys think?

Joo Chiat has narrow roads with buildings close to the road, more damages when there is an accident.

However, the tree might not be an issue as 103 has a tree in a similar position at Yishun Ave 6 > Ave 1 turn twd Sgoon but it is clear for DD

perhaps that is not the case. Remember when someone sent a list of places with no DD clearance? Henderson Rd was one of them due to low trees (although it has been some time since that was published)
