That's my problem too. i check everywhere and there is no such thing as E8L9. But that what the MO said to me. My unit called me and told me that they are still trying to arrange for me the medical board and the guy on the phone told me that if before my ICT still no answer, they will use my previous pes status which is C2L9. Is he crazy? i now pes E and he ask me to use my previous status? is the army trying to kill me. anyway, i give up, i going back to ICT and see MO again.

It is weird. C2L9 should not go for ICT at all in the first place.

L9 - Suitable for peacetime sedentary duties at bases. Sedentary means no physical activities at all. This means only clerk work is allowed. Even storemen should not be deployed with L9. At bases, means no outfield at all.

Not fit for operational duties even in Bases. Operational duties refer to ops.

What is your vocation? SAF really ask you to back camp to staple paper? You should check with SAF that they deployed you correctly in the first place.

when i was C2L9 my unit also ask me to take part in almost all the exercise. Did everything but excused IPPT. Even go outfield for "camping" trip, range and all the "normal" stuff.

Really loved the SAF as they are doing very weird things. My buddy just change job and the CO reject his deferment. hahaha

Under SAF LAW, Pes E can still go ICT. Only Pes F don't need. But go back and do what? i will let you guys know after my ICT.

You should email to [email protected] to ask. If they have deployed you correctly in the first place. It sounds weird, but under the mindef directives, it is YOU who volunteered for NS. And it is not up to them to check out what you are fit to do. So your boss may not even knew that you are Pes XX so and so. His concern is how to deploy his men only for exercise.

Ask for a change in vocation.

Need advice !!

Currenlty a nsmen at RSAF. During NS time, is having temp c9L2 for ankle problem (due to bike accident) and expiry date of temp C9 is on my ord date which is at mid - 2008 (At that time i also nv care less, was thinking just wait for them to ask me go for medical review den say). And all the way from then till now, there is no scheduled for medical review and also ask me to take ippt at all but i already went for 3times of ICT already.

Suddenly last week receive sms from mindef asking me to go for medical review end of this month at my base. Already book appointment with specialist for review of my ankle problem. Need advice on will there be any issue of me go back to MO and gave him another memo from specialist since is so long ago already and will they review my PES again ??

As long as you have specialist memo, they will review your case. If haven't recover then perm PES. You should get a memo fast and give to the MO in camp during your medical appointment with him.

Hi, I am a singaporean currently studying in an overseas boarding school. I have done my medical check up and will be back by mid november to begins my national service. I have so far been graded as B1L1 and was wondering if it was possible to be upgraded to PES A. I figured that since I am quite into sports and having to spend 2 years in the army, I might as well make the most out of it and aspire to be placed in a physically demanding vocation.

I figured I was put into B1L1 either because I'm classified as 'mildly obese' (170cm, 75-80kg) or because of my eyesight (3.75, 3.25). Could anyone clarify why I was classed as B1L1 and if it is possible for me to be upgraded to PES A? I would also like to know if it was possible to enter OCS being B1L1. Thanks

PES A/B1 BMT

This 9-week programme trains combat-fit recruits in the basic military skills to prepare them for advanced vocational training. The programme includes weapon training with the SAR 21 rifle which will teach recruits technical handling and marksmanship skills; a Battle Inoculation Course that simulates a real battlefield; a Field Camp which develops basic survival skills; progressive training to complete a 24-km route march which builds combat fitness and endurance; and hand grenade training.

For those who fail to achieve the NAPFA test silver award, they are required to undergo an 8-week Physical Training Phase prior to the Pes A/B1 BMT.

in short, PES A & B are eligible for command schools (OCS/ SCS), provided if selected and recommended by the BMT officer-in-charge.

generally speaking, both PES A and B are no difference at all.
PES is medically fit; physically fit is another thing altogether.
so train up, lose weight, trim up.

PES A (L1) = Fit for all combat vocations. (Full BMT)

PES B (L1) = Fit for most combat vocations. (Full BMT)

only PES A and B are eligible for the 2 months fitness cut to serve only 22 months instead of 24 months of NS, provided if they get silver/ gold in the NAPFA physical fitness test before enlistment day.

PES B2/ C/ E will have to serve 24 months.

the rest of what you asked, i don't know already, because I ORD years ago already...

1) One question is whether a PES B2 (liable for IPPT) can get discount if he passes, since if he fails there is no PTP for him.

2) PTP get 17 weeks BMT and obese get 19 weeks BMT- another question is whether PTP get a 2 week discount or if their service is still 2 years in total.

Eg I was a PTP. I enlisted 2 months earlier but since PTP was 6 weeks, I got 2 weeks disruption between my PTP and BMT.

3) PES C and E are treated the same- 2 years total regardless of length of BMT.

And I managed to siam the review till this week (17 months after enlistment and the start of my PES E9L9), when my S1 sent a mail to my direct superior, asking them to make sure I go for my review.

So no choice, I went for review with my already-prepared doc's memo. Then the MO was quite friendly, chatted with me, then read his bible, then entered "MBIA PES E1L9 PERM blah blah blah" into the system and then got me to sign the MB form.

Here are my questions:

1. When is the MB conducted every month?

2. Usually will the MB approve the PES recommended by the MO for most of time?

3. Since I am technically up-pes-ed from E9 to E1, will there be any difference? I'm assuming since both are E, there are no difference since I'm an ASA.

E9L9 and E1L9 not much difference one. PES E only vocation normally is clerk or storeman. Most likely u stay as a ASA. Medical board is every month one time. Most likely the Medical board will approve, don't worry.

no specialist memos to support, no talk...

if got hospital specialist memos as medical proof, got talk for u to be within PES C range easily one...

if the hospital specialist memos are stronger-worded, may be can go further to PES E.

Most likely is pes B. For IBS, there is different grade. So usually most people have mild IBS. Unless IBS develops to become IBD in later life.

Tachycardia is not a disease. It is a symptom. Unless you are having the HR at 140 per minute at rest. Then you are Pes E or even F.

Childhood jaundice like childhood asthma is nothing. Many people have slow development especially in the brain. LOL.

What is the difference between A and B?

Both are combat fit, both can be pilots or commandos. Seems like A is near perfection and B is what most people are.

Any vocatioon A can do that B cannot?
