i stole a sec sch kid’s bus card, no worries

sinicker SG

indeed a very poor debater. baseless accusations.

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Not all JC students are spoilt brats. My cousin is one JC student yet she is so humble. She is also not a spoilt brat despite being the youngest in the family.

You are too generalizing.

papercut87 SG

that's a sweeping statement. there's always this bridge b/w us... poly students think that jc students r spoilt brats hu hav no life only know how to study.. whereas jc students feel that ppl fr poly r slackers.. in actual fact, its not entirely true...

ditzy SG

They're not spoilt brats lah, such generalisation is uncouth and totally uncalled for. Laughing

Just say they're gays, g-a-y-s. More than sufficient to get the message across.

browniebaobao SG

i also wanted to start a thread but u are faster.

What nonsense! y not jc students pay more than poly students then? Most of them are damn rich wor!

silv3rgal SG

jealousy su-cks.

dranoel maxwell SG

just asking anyone went to the poly forum yesterday?

R3SsH|n SG

i oso not on your side...even if i scold jc suck...i oso do it it private... Embarassed you cannot su ka su ka scold people mahz...scold oso must have bases...

bladez87 SG

i got 1 very good point to state...
we poly pay 1 extra year of school fees, textbooks and notes. the opportunity cost of us studying 1 year is easily 20k if we go out and work like JC students. thus we are actually paying alot more compared to JC students. and why is it that we gotta pay more for bus fares oso? so wat if we wake up late wear casual or even slippers to school? we make it up for 1 more year of education.

by applying wat i learnt in financial mgt, the money we spend is alot more considering the fact that we keep paying n paying and with price hike and stuff , in the long run we r losing to JC students due to the required rate of return. Laughing

altho ppl might say poly grad liao can work, but poly work pay only 1.5k highest for freshies. so we need to go uni to start off with 1.8k job. so overall JC students still lead us by 1 year. and tat 1 year is alot! time is money! opportunity cost of studying! school fees! n alot alot of other factors...

my point being
poly should pay student price for transport...

ditzy SG

How about a 30 year old guy taking a course in poly? He is a student of the poly right? Let's say if poly students get to pay student fare, is this 30 year old guy entitled to pay student fares as well? If he isn't entitled, it's not very fair to him right? Laughing

bladez87 SG

o ya considering the fact hor
for me la
i take 3 bus to ngee ann poly daily. going by adult fare
64cents + 1 buck + 39 cents = $2.03 per trip
per day $4.06
don say about CCA n going out
5 days week 1 mth 20 days
20 * 4.06 = 81.20 bucks.
for poly life
81.20 * 36 months = 2923.20

going by student fare
i donno how much student fare is ... opps
but i take it as 50 cents la
50 + 25 + 25 = 1buck
2/1 = 2
2923.2 / 2 = 1.4k!!!
1.4k of savings! damnit i wan tat 1.4k back!

ditzy SG

Then why you don't go JC at the start? Laughing I'm pretty sure you know jolly well the differences between pre-u and poly before you enrolled in either.

papercut87 SG

but why must attack jc students particularly abt the bus fare rates? arent ite students paying student fare too? we’re all ard the same age..

ditzy SG

Because when the sky is dark, you will always look out for the brightest star. Laughing

confusedboi SG

why not ask moe and transit link since they set the fares

skyfoo SG

seriously speaking, i dun see the point of attacking each others as the bus fares are set by the PTC.

no_1_idiot SG

True, i agree wif poly student dat bus fare unfair.i think u all shld hantam e PTC and not jc student lor...Ite oso student rate wad,,Why never buay song dem,,Ha.i think best hor is everybody,jc ,poly, nsman and uni all discount lor...Den everybody here happy mah.If raise fare 4 jc ,i buaysong sia nid to pay more 4 bus fare Embarassed

sinicker SG

u hentam the setter of bus fares?

i dont know lah... there's no use arguing here. we wouldnt get nowhere talking abt it here. you all know it. so yeah... nothing can be done unless you have the courage to go all out and demand for it. demand for a change to the fares that have been set 20+ yrs ago.

junh SG

complain got what use??

u complain some more they dun let poly students take bus den u all noe...

but i will complain too lar..

especially when sbs comes withe non air-con buses..

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Don't let poly students take bus, walk to poly is it? Good idea. They say 30 minutes of exercise everyday...

Therefore male poly students don't need go NS because they are fitter than JC students... Very Happy
